How To Handle Rejection
May 4, 2019

Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is a master of all, But is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. (Gal 4:1-2)

Until he develops and shows a change in attitude, with a sense of discipline and commitment to goals being seen in him, you will agree with me that hardly will anyone entrust anything of value to any young person. The elements of maturity must be seen in him before greater access can be given. Now being a child is by birth, but coming to maturity, is by choice, it is a deliberate thing. It is simply submitting to the process of God.

The bible shows us examples of people who didn’t go through the training process before coming into leadership and we see that they didn’t last. Lucifer did not go through the process, the Bible says that the same day he was made the workmanship of his pipe and timbrels was placed in him, so Lucifer as it were, never went through the growth process. What about Adam? Adam never grew, he was never a child, he came as a man, he never went through the process of growth and development, so like Lucifer, he also slipped up. People who don’t go through process never last. Let us also consider Saul, who was looking for his father’s asses, but he found a throne he wasn’t looking for and was crowned as the first king of Israel. He slipped up so bad that God had to change the order.

By the time He was sending His son, he didn’t come as an adult, he came as a child, and the bible says ‘the child grew’, because growth can’t be compromised. If you will get to maturity, you will need to go through a process of development. What about David? The bible says in Acts 13:20 that God gave them judges for four hundred and fifty years until Samuel. In verse 21, the bible says that God gave them Saul, and then in verse 22, the bible says “God raised David”.

David went through a process, in spite of the fact that he was already anointed. It took thirteen years before David came into what God had already ordained him for.

For three things the earth is perturbed, Yes, for four it cannot bear up:  For a servant when he reigns, A fool when he is filled with food (Prov 30:21-22)

When a servant reigns, the bible says for such a thing, the earth will not be quiet, it will cause trouble, because he has had no change in his mentality. He has not been trained to be a leader. A person like this in history was Samuel Joe, a sergeant who suddenly became the head of state. Now a person doesn’t go from being a sergeant to being head of state, he is likely to make grievous mistakes and that’s exactly what happened with this man. The Nation of Liberia is yet to fully recover from the effect of Civil war precipitated by failed and dysfunctional leadership.

Training is important, going through God’s process is important; He will surround you with people, and put you in relationships and circumstances that will help you come into the fullness of what He has ordained for you.
